The Kawaii Project opened on February 20th with an Erokawa themed round. Erokawa, or Cute Erotica, is where cute meets naughty. I am usually not the biggest fan of minimal stylings, but this round of TKP certainly brought up some exceptions. Continue reading

Red sakura

Flower symbolism is yet another aspect that makes life so utterly romantic and precious. The Japanese Sakura, which you likely know as the cherry blossom, symbolizes how life is short yet beautiful. This is due to the fact that cherry blossoms only live for a couple of days before they fall off their trees, though they are undeniably beautiful during this short lifetime. Continue reading

Wonders of the wicked

The Kawaii Project has gone full kowai for the Halloween season. As much as I love the usual adorability of The Kawaii Project, it was most definitely nice and refreshing to see what the designers came up with for the spooky month of October.

Moon Elixir came out with the perfect ensemble for any sassy witch. The outfit comes with a kimono, additional hood and is available in multiple colours. Furthermore I am also wearing a pair of boots by Dilly Dolls, of which there is also a ligher, more kawaii version available. Boots are in my opinion a must for the autumn season. Whether you are planning to witch it up or enjoy the season of golden leaves and pumpkin spice casually, boots will keep you comfortable and cozy during these times of flourishing cold and rain.

To top it off, I am wearing a ravishing witch’s hat by Astralia, combined with a bewitching hairdo by Love Hair. A witch’s look is most certainly incomplete without a touch of magic thus I used one of the enchanting poses by Glamrus which you can, once more, find at The Kawaii Project.

LAQ Trinity Head

LAQ recently brought out their first mesh head, Trinity. The head has a very sophisticated and chic vibe to her and though that usually isn’t quite up my alley, I fell in absolute love with Avi-Glam‘s head applier, which was specifically created for the LAQ head. The head applier is currently available at Cosmopolitan until the 13th, but not to worry, she will also be available at the Avi-Glam mainstore afterwards.

To get back to LAQ, I can’t wait to see what Mallory and Winter come up with next. I have high hopes for their future releases as the quality of Trinity- and LAQ products in general, certainly does not disappoint. A few customer favorite skins have also been turned into head appliers, all of which have a completely unique but equally dazzling appearance.

Can’t get enough of the LAQ head? I will be showing several head appliers and cosmetics for Trinity in the final part of my MBA Fair Event Overview. Part one, which will be all about apparel (alliterations FTW!), will be uploaded later tonight. Stay tuned!

Youthful senses that never decay

Youthful senses that never decay

One of my all time favorite movies is ’13 going on 30′. I watched it when I was 13 years old myself and found that I could greatly relate to 13 year old Jenna. How I longed to be an independent adult with a fabulous carreer, lover and boobs (!), or at least be the Regina George of my small town high school and steal kisses from all the hot seniors. Unfortunately my fetch high school life never actually took off and my chances to be the future head editor of Vogue have thus decreased to the point of nonexistence and ironically, the word ‘adulthood’ has, instead of sparking up juvinele hopes, dreams and wishes, started to make me feel rather anxious and downhearted.

As a so-called “young adult”, I have only set my first footsteps into this rather eerie world of responsibilities and reality, though I fear for what lays further down the road. Truly, I have a wishful feeling that my youthful senses will never decay because they are more than simply part of a number; of my age. Instead, they are a part of the core of my very excistence, a part of my heart and mind. I suppose my fear extends further than what lies on the surface, it goes beyond just the responsibilities and the reality I am forced to face. What I truly fear is the loss of who I am, the loss of that ‘core of my very excistence’.

I have met incredibly many people in my life and recently started to notice that I am not able to imagine that some of these people were young once. Perhaps that is part of my ignorance, though I like to believe that it is more than just that. This proofs itself when I ask these people about their youth. They speak of it as if it is someone elses distant memory, as it is a retold anecdote that they once heard at a bar or party. I want these young and (relatively) wild days of mine to be more than a retold anecdote, I want them to matter to me. I long to remember these days as moments that have shaped my life into what it will be by the time I have ventured further down the roads of adulthood.

On the whole, today’s life lesson, given by my overly philosophical self who likes to believe she is far wiser than she probably is, is the importance of remembering that every moment you live through, the things you do and every word you say (or write!), matters. You will find that these are part of the factors that define who you are as they set the bricks for the path of a life that you have chosen to live ♥

“How I’d love to find
That old place of mine
Feel the afternoon glow
Something warm, something slow
But our minds got small
When our legs grew tall
And our eyes don’t see right
Give me soul, give me sight”
– The Paper Kites, When Our Legs Grew Tall

On another (final) note, The Paper Kites are one of my favorite bands and it was around this time last year that I discovered my love for their words and sound. I hope you lovely readers will enjoy this tune as much as I do.

Little town

Summer seems to be the season in which nostalgia finds its way through the smallest peeks and windows. As I was working on another photo, Belle’s song, also known as ‘Little Town’, started to play through my automatically generated YouTube playlist. The memories hit me hard as I remembered my endless love for the bookworm Disney princess and felt my heart fill itself with delight as I remembered strolling around Disneyland Paris in my very own princess Belle dress with my hair tied up just like she always had it. It wasn’t until recently that my childhood innocence was crushed by the realization that Belle suffered from major Stockholm syndrome but the joy and sense of sentiment after hearing the first notes of the Beauty & The Beast tune made my adulthood realizations fade away and it all back to me. Not my innocence, unfortunately that has been taken away from me without hope of returning, but the memories and in some way, my lost hope. I always feared of growing up and turning bitter. I felt anxious about losing my childlike spark and belief that all wishes and dreams can come true, as the Disney movies always taught me. But for some reason I have a feeling that those childlike tendencies will never leave me and they have never been a part of my just my childhood, but a part of who I am. Thus a part of my own lively fairytale and someday, my own happily ever after ♥

“Look there she goes that girl is so peculiar
I wonder if she’s feeling well
With a dreamy, far-off look
And her nose stuck in a book
What a puzzle to the rest of us is Belle”
– Beauty & The Beast, Little Town

Coincidentally, Serenity Style brought out this adorable ‘My Little Town’ gacha set at The Project Se7en which seemed perfect for the circumstances. I decided to create a bedroom, inspired by my brothers old bedroom which was filled with little toy houses amongst other urban or townlike structures, all carved out of oak wood and painted over with vibrant and playful colours. I also used the new Southwest set by Fiasco which was recently released at The Liaison Collective and finished the room with several pieces from the amazing 22769 ~ [bauwerk] and Schultz Bros.
